Westport this morning from 05.50 - 09.00, cold start, 6c, slight northerly breeze, cloudy with sunny intervals.
Lots of Blackcaps, in total saw/heard x9 all over the park, on the playing field a single Mistle Thrush and Starling, the Canada's with 7 Goslings were on the canal side of the main lake, on the boating lake just a lone Great Crested Grebe by it's old nest with a further x5 on the main lake. On the grass verge 3x Little Ringed Plovers and the Domestic Geese with there x3 Goslings, all the Mute Swans were on the main lake this morning totalling x14 and as usual the one on the top pool, and 'Sammy' the Shoveler was walking around the car park with his female Mallard 'friend', following her every step (sounds familiar), Tufted Ducks numbered x12 all on the main lake, in the Nature Reserve x2 Chiffchaff plus x2 on the old sewage works, also 1x Willow Warbler on each area as well, a Common Sandpiper was on the old beach area and 2x Reed Buntings were seen, one at the bottom entrance to the Nature Reserve and one by the canal near the old sewage works, a pair of Willow Tits were on 'Wood Warbler' Avenue, one had a very bent tail suggesting that they have a nest nearby, 1x Reed Warbler was on the top pool and 3x Stock Doves on the old gas works, a total of 8x Whitethroat were on the old sewage works and surrounding area also 3x Garden Warblers here as well.

Total species seen 46.
