At last managed to get down for my first early morning start in nearly a week! Started out at 05.40 it was wet from overnight rain, very cloudy with a slight northwesterly breeze, temp was 10c, a light drizzle started at 06.20ish for about 20mins or so.
The Grey Wagtail was back at it's usual canalside building after been missing for a few weeks, also a Swallow was going in the old building were I guess it's nesting.
On the model boating lake the 2x Great Crested Grebes continue to sit there secound nest attempt, also 2x Mute Swans, 'Sammy' Shoveler and a Canada Goose with a metal ring.
A Little Ringed Plover was on the grass verge with another Grey Wagtail and a couple of Pied Wagtails. On the main lake, another 4x Mute Swans, 3x Great Crested Grebes, 5x Tufted Ducks and good numbers of Swallows with smaller numbers of Swift, Sand Martins and House Martins.
The only bird of note on the 'Avenue' was 2x Blackcap, in the Nature Reserve, 2x Chiffchaff, 3x Blackcap, 1x Willow Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker and 2x Reed Warbler on the top pool with the pair of Mute Swans. On the old gas works and sewage works, 1/2 Chiffchaff, 1x Willow Warbler, 2x Stock Dove, 3x Whitethroat and a new in Sedge Warbler.

Total species seen 42.
