26 May 2010

Noticed it was raining this afternoon so decided to make a visit to Westport, got down at 18.00 and just stayed under the trees on the grass bank from where I could see both lakes and up towards Bradwell Wood.

3x Tufted Duck on main lake all males, 13x Mute Swans, 3x Lesser Black-backed Gulls flew through, 1x Shoveler and 3x Great Crested Grebes plus two on the model boating lake.
Flying around and above the main lake, 50+ Swift and 130+ hirundines all Swallows & House Martins, a Great Spotted Woodpecker also flew across the lake, and a Chiffchaff could be heard calling from the Nature Reserve.
